FEMA Provides Assistance During Presidential Disaster Declarations

Let's take a look at a few of the areas that have recently been declared as major disaster areas:
On March 25, 2016, FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Mississippi to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area affected by severe storms and flooding beginning on March 9, 2016, and continuing. The President's action makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Bolivar, Coahoma, and Washington counties. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster. Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
On March 19, 2016, FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the State of Texas to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in the area affected by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding beginning on March 7, 2016, and continuing. The President's action makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Jasper, Newton, and Orange counties. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster. The President's action makes federal funding available to state, tribal and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding in Jasper, Newton, and Orange counties. Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
On March 16, 2016, FEMA announced that federal disaster aid has been made available to the State of Delaware to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area affected by the severe winter storm and flooding during the period of January 22-23, 2016. The President's action makes federal funding available to state and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe winter storm and flooding in Sussex County. Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
On March 13, 2016, FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Louisiana to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in the area affected by severe storms and flooding beginning on March 8, 2016, and continuing. The President's action makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Bossier, Claiborne, Grant, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, and Webster parishes. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster. The President's action makes federal funding available to state, tribal and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by a severe storms and flooding in the Bossier, Claiborne, Grant, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, and Webster parishes.
