It's been one heck of a week for Florida, as rains and storms bring in flooding and challenging weather conditions. here are some of the headlines that are trending right now for Florida.


Flooding in Granite City, Illinois

"Freak storm wasn’t only cause of flooding in Granite City. Here are the other problems. Flash floods that closed roads and delayed the start of the school year in Granite City are being blamed on the perfect storm: torrential rain, an outdated and inadequate storm drainage system, and political finger pointing.

A thunderstorm dropped between 5 and 7 inches of rain on the central and northern areas of Granite City Sunday night and into Monday morning, flooding the city and turning its roads into waterways. The southern part of the city received roughly 4 inches of rain."

Flooding in Summerville, South Carolina

"Dozens of children were stranded at daycare after intense thunderstorms blew through Summerville Wednesday afternoon. Flooding caused Springview Academy daycare to shut down early, but parents were unable to pick their kids up due to knee-high water covering the road. That’s when law enforcement stepped in for the dramatic rescue. As the rain poured, concerned parents stood helpless, unable to pick up their children."
