The Big Bags USA® System


Each Big Bags USA® flood barrier system features a lightweight accordion design, and is just 50 lbs. An empty system can easily be carried by a single person. Five bags, each featuring 27 cu. ft. of high strength polypropylene, compose one flood barrier system. You can then connect multiple systems to create the desired length of barrier. The patented U-frame design allows the systems to open up and remain standing, in place for filling. They systems can also be stacked in a pyramid design to achieve vertical height. Each bag also features tightly woven utility loops for easy lifting and deployment, and the highest UV protection available. The optional closed-top Big Bags USA® flood barrier system allows for underwater submersion.



Our protective flood barrier systems consist of five sandbags, that together measure 40" in heaight, 36" in width and 180" in length. Every flood barrier has a fill capacity of 2,700-3,400 lbs depending on moisture and clay content of the sand used. The sandbags themselves and the utility loops have been rated at 4,400 lbs leaving plenty of space for marginal variables. One, five-bag system filled and deployed will weigh up to 17,000 lbs, considerably less than the 20,520-25,840 lbs of a conventional sandbag barrier of the same dimensions. The principal concept of the the Big Bags USA® flood barrier system is the ground conforming sandbags method without the "dead space" of conventional sandbag barriers.
