What You Need to Know About FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grants
As we find ourselves in the midst of hurricane season, it’s a good time to be aware of what opportunities and tools are available to you. Recently, FEMA announced the $660 million in hazard mitigation assistance grants which will be used for the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities. The goal is that it will help to build a culture of preparedness in our nation, and then allow for funding to be used on projects that will help mitigate the disaster losses of the future.
Here are a few things that FEMA has published about this grand and how Big Bags USA qualifies!

There is $160 million available in this application cycle for Flood Mitigation Assistance grant funds, and there is $70 million set aside for community advance assistance and flood mitigation projects. In total, there is $660 million available for the FMA and BRIC programs combined.
Per the fema.gov website, the application period opens on September 30, 2020. Eligible applicants must apply for funding using the new FEMA Grants Outcome (FEMA GO), which is now the management system for FMA and BRIC. Applications must be received in the FEMA GO Portal by January 29, 2021, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time (ET). Applications received by FEMA GO after this date will not be considered for funding.
